Mass shooting was Plymouth’s 9/11, residents’ leader tells Priti Patel

The mass shooting in which six people died in Plymouth on Thursday was the city's 9/11, a residents' leader has told the Home Secretary.

Visiting the scene where Jake Davison went on a gun rampage, killing five people before taking his own life, Priti Patel spoke to residents and members of the local neighbourhood watch team, calling what had happened "tragic beyond words".

Davison gunned down his mother, Maxine, before turning the gun on her neighbours and other innocent passers-by in what local leaders called Plymouth's darkest day since World War Two.
