Shardul Thakur doubtful for Lord’s Test after hamstring injury | Ind vs Eng 2nd Test | Cricket Post
India vs England 2nd Test: The second test match between India and England will be played at Lord's from Thursday. The eyes of both the teams will be on opening their account in the 5-match series with victory. Earlier, the first match of this test series was drawn due to rain. In such a situation, everyone's eyes are fixed on the second test, but friends, in the meantime a bad news has come to the fore.
Actually, Team India's fast bowler Shardul Thakur has been injured and is finding it difficult to play now. It is being told that the bowler has suffered a hamstring injury and he may be out of the playing XI in the second match. However, the captain of the Indian team, Virat Kohli, had given Shardul a place in the playing XI in the first Test played in Nottingham. This decision was questioned by many, but by dismissing England captain Root in the first innings, Shardul silenced the critics.
However, after the injury of Shardul in the Indian team, spinner R Ashwin can be selected in the playing XI. Anyway, the pitch of Lads is considered helpful for the spinners. However, due to batting in the first Test, Shardul was included in the team in place of Ashwin. But now after Shardul's injury, India can go with two spinners in the second Test. Apart from this, there are also reports that Mayank Agarwal is now fully fit, who can be included in the playing 11 in place of Cheteshwar Pujara.
