The latest travel update has seen a couple of countries moved to the green and red list but sadly, no new countries have been included on the amber list. On the other hand, many have found the latest travel list changes "very very disappointing" as only seven countries have been added to the UK’s green list.
In the recent UK travel list changes it is confirmed that Canada and the Azores have been added to green list
Yesterday, the Government of UK updated its Covid-19 travel restrictions, adding some countries to its 'green' list, but also shifting Montenegro and Thailand to its 'red' list.
In the first update to its travel limitations since 5 August 2021, the UK government has added Canada, Denmark, Finland, Switzerland, Lithuania, Liechtenstein and Portugal's Azores islands to its green list from 30 August 2021, so passengers coming to the UK from those destinations will not need to self-isolate.
But conversely, it has added Montenegro and Thailand to its red list — meaning UK citizens arriving from those countries will need to enter quarantine in hotels and other arrivals are banned from entering the country. The government said this reflects increased rates of new coronavirus cases and "lower levels of published genomic surveillance" in both countries.
