
In Toronto, Dr. Kieran Moore, Ontario's chief medical officer of health, provides an update on the province's COVID-19 situation. The update comes as most students in Ontario return to class for the first day of the school year. Ontario is reporting 564 new cases. Currently 83.7 per cent of eligible residents have received one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, while 77.2 per cent are fully vaccinated. The province has seen an increase in vaccine appointments since it announced a vaccine certificate system is being introduced on September 22.
