A Day in the Life of a Veteran and His Service Dog | Chewy

United States Veterans continue to struggle re-entering society with both physical and emotional wounds upon coming home. As more vets return, the need for companionship and support can be vital. Public surroundings can be nerve-wracking and crowds can spike anxiety. That’s why Paul Coppola, United States Marine Corps Veteran and Purple Heart recipient, went to Operation Delta Dog to adopt a service dog named Dobby.

Today, Paul continues to serve his country and community as a Veteran Support Coordinator and volunteer at Operation Delta Dog. Because while his war wounds might not be visible to the naked eye, they’re very real. He’s now dedicated his life to help other Vets overcome social anxieties and other obstacles with the help of friends -- just like his Dobby. This is more than a story about a Vet and his dog. It’s a story about family, friendship and service.
