In this video, I will try to explain the benefits of use of potash fertilizers in Wheat crop. Potassium fertilizers are of two types usually: SOP sulphate of potash and MOP murate of potash. Both fertilizers types have a lot of benefits in agricultural crops such as wheat, potato, tobacco, tomato and orchards etc.
MOP fertilizer is cost effective but is not applied in salts affected soils, orchards and saline sodic soils. MOP potash is not used in tobacco, tomato, orchards.
SOP fertilizer use @ 1 Bag per acre can increase wheat grains yield by 13% to 15%. It also increases straw yield. Potassium fertilizers usage has significant impact on tillering, number of grains, number of spikes, grains weight and size etc. Potassium nutrient decreases lodging in crops. Potash regulates water turger pressure in wheat plant. Potassium fertilizers application in wheat increases disease resistance. 5 to 7 monds per acre grains yield of wheat crop can be increased by wheat growers by applying fertilizers such as SOP and MOP.
