The section of National Road No. 3 with a total length of nearly 135 km from Chom Chao roundabout to Kampot city, built under the concession financing of the Chinese government, will be officially inaugurated on March 2, 2022 under the presidency of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia. The construction and improvement of National Road No. 3 is divided into two phases, the first phase from Choam Chao, Phnom Penh to Bek Kus, Takeo province, 70 km long, widening the road to 24.5 meters, a concrete road (AC) ) 9 cm thick, divided into 4 lanes (2 lanes to 2 lanes). The second phase from Bek Kus to Kampot city, 64.8 km long, 7 cm thick AC road, extending the width of the road up to 12 m, divided into 2 lanes.
