The acting Municipal Manager of the uMngeni Local Municipality in KwaZulu-Natal has been instructed by the High Court in Pietermaritzburg to convene the council's first sitting. The DA had filed an urgent application, calling for the sitting, after the planned inauguration did not take place last week when the suspended municipal manager tried to preside over the council meeting. This is the first municipality the DA has taken in KwaZulu-Natal.
