Win Brexit! The EU panicked when it lost £28 billion after Brexit and they turned angry at the British.
Crisis in the EU as sales revenue falls by £28 billion in five years.
BRUSSELS's efforts to punish Britain for Brexit appear to have backfired after a new study found the total value of EU imports has fallen by almost £28 billion since 2016.
And Leigh Evans, editor-in-chief of the pro-Brexit think tank Facts4EU, thinks the bloc has paid the price for "years of abuse" against Britain. Facts4EU based their report on the latest trade figures released by the Office for National Statistics on Tuesday.
Comparing the past 12 months with 2016, the year of the Brexit referendum, shows lost EU revenue amounting to £27.8 billion - a decrease of 11.3%.
The EU is angry as if to blame the British for taking their money. This is a huge step backwards for the EU after Brexit.
Equally important is the analysis of the UK's source of purchases of goods and services.
In the first quarter of 2016, 55.7% came from the EU27.
Five years later, that number has dropped to just 49.5%.
Mr. Evans said: “Over the years, there has been a growing backlash against the EU.
“Even many of those who voted Remain in 2016 were shocked by the EU's bullying and unreasonable behavior towards the UK.
Mr Evans stressed: The ONS figures provide "clear evidence" that EU sales to the UK are falling significantly, both in percentage terms and in real terms.
He added: “Our analysis and reporting is about what Brexit the UK is buying from abroad and the figures don't look good for the EU.
“The EU's abuse of the UK for many years will certainly hurt consumers' views when making purchasing decisions.
In a message to the people of the bloc, Mr Evans said: "We see no indication of hostility by the British people towards citizens of EU27 countries.
“Beef”, as we say, is not for you. Beef the way the UK has been treated - especially by the European Union Commission and the European Union Parliament.
“If you felt bullied and treated like a no-voting colony, how would you react when choosing between a UK product and one from the EU27?”
Comments on Facts4EU's website largely agree with the report's conclusions.
Carol Garrington said: “So I asked myself, bought some onions and saw them coming from Spain. Avoid everything I can if not from the UK. "
Tina Ward added: "Things are also going to get worse for the EU as we all grow increasingly fed up of bullies."
Nigel Davidson posted: "I switched to Malbec from Argentina, it's much better than the stuff from France."
The EU is being hit by many arrows, Vonderleyen is extremely confused when the EU has to go through such a crushing defeat.
