Tracking Henri: Storm center approaches Block Island

Tropical Storm Henri has weakened some more, but don't count it out - it might just be getting started.

Maximum sustained winds are now 60 mph as its center passes between Montauk Point and Block Island, Rhode Island. The latest track keeps Henri moving northwest before making landfall near the Rhode Island/Connecticut border this afternoon.

Henri's track shifted east Sunday, which spared eastern Long Island a dreaded direct hit, but hardly diminished the dangers of heavy rain, flash flooding and coastal surges.
