Darren Jenke Game on Kelpies puts one of his 11 week old Kelpie bitches in front of our Suffolk Ewe lambs and explains how much of the herding behaviour is instinctive as opposed to taught. What a trainer really does is teach a small number of commands to the dog to allow him to use the natural instincts of the herding dogs to control the natural instincts of the sheep and make the sheep do what the trainer wants the sheep to do.
